FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHY DOES CONCRETE SETTLE?

Poor soil conditions, poor compaction, tree roots, and poor drainage.  Many homeowners make the mistake of waiting until the problem worsens and then end up spending 3-5 times the amount of money to replace, rather than raising their sinking concrete.  Until the problem is fixed, your home remains at risk.

WHAT SIGNS SHOULD A HOMEOWNER LOOK FOR?

Cracks, crumbling, pooling water, porches or patios pulling away from the foundation. It only gets worse, unless you take action.

WHY SHOULD YOU RAISE CONCRETE AND NOT REPLACE IT?

  • Safety.  Trip hazards can harm you and your family and leaves your property vulnerable to unwanted liability.

  • Cost.  You can raise your concrete for less than half the price of replacing it.

  • Time.  Your concrete problem will only worsen in time, fix it now and avoid the hassle later.  Raising concrete with polyurethane foam often takes a couple of hours and the structure is ready in minutes upon completion.

  • Home Value.  Trying to sell your home?  First appearance is everything to a home buyer.

  • Structural Damage.  When a concrete slab settles, doors and windows begin to stick and structures connected to the slab start to settle and crack.

  • Water Damage.  Water follows the path of least resistance.  A settled or sunken driveway may end up costing a homeowner considerable money in foundation repairs over time.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MUDJACKING AND POLYURETHANE FOAMJACKING?

Hole size of polyurethane is only 5/8 inch. Mudjacking is 1 and 5/8 inch.  Weight of polyurethane is only 2-4 lbs. per cubic foot.  Mudjacking weighs on average 100 lbs per cubic foot.

WHAT IS SPRAY FOAM?

Spray foam is created by mixing two resin materials with each other.  It then expands up to 30-60 times its liquid volume after it is sprayed into place.  Creating it to take shape to your space and producing a high thermal insulating value.

WHAT'S THE BENEFIT OF SPRAY FOAM?

Spray foam offers much better heating and cooling benefits than fiber glass. As it dries, it expands to block both air and water! It also prevents insects and rodents from getting into your space and reduces the amount of pollen and allergens in your home or business.

DOES SPRAY FOAM MAKE MY HOUSE TOO TIGHT?

Never.  You will need to have your builder place a ventilating system to precondition and filter the air coming in. This helps recover 80-90% of energy that would normally be lost. This also reduces the size of the HVAC system by about 50% which helps with cost.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

Project duration depends entirely on the space, existing insulation and size of project. When we give an estimate, we'll also give you an expected duration period.  We ensure that when giving an estimate, we are thorough and measured. We'll ask questions to make sure we understand what you're looking for. Our goal is no surprises along the way.

WHERE DOES THE MOISTURE GO AFTER SEALING UP MY ATTIC?

What moisture? Condensation only forms when moist warm air meets a cold surface. Spray foam insulation completely eliminated this.
